What is Sponsored Tweets and How Do I Use It?

Tweeting sponsored ads is one of the newest ways to make money with Twitter. Sponsored Tweets is leading the way with this innovative concept. Sponsored Tweets acts as an intermediary between advertisers and Tweeters, providing advertisers a platform for partnering with interested and willing Tweeters to tweet their message in exchange for cash.

If you're interested in making money with Twitter using Sponsored Tweets, here's what to do: First, sign up for an account at Sponsored Tweets. Having an account is free for Tweeters. Next, advertisers will send you offers to consider. Review the advertiser's offer and either accept it or decline it. Create a tweet post for the advertiser's approval. Finally, tweet out a post with the proper disclosure.

5 Tips For Using Sponsored Tweets

If you are considering using Sponsored Tweets, here a few tips that may help you get more offers and make more money:

  1. If you don't already have a Twitter account, sign up now and start tweeting.  To use Sponsored Tweets your account must be more than 60 days old with 100 status updates and 100 followers.
  2. Grow your following as quickly as possible, but do it naturally, not with a software program.  The information available to advertisers shows them the ratio between the number of followers you have and the number of people you are following.  If you're auto following back everyone who follows you that's looked at by advertisers as being a negative.  Although advertisers want Tweeters with a large following, they want Tweeters who have followers who will actually click on their links because they value they information they provide.
  3. Make sure your Twitter profile is built out.  This includes uploading a picture.  Advertisers want to know who is relaying their message.  Let them get to know you.
  4. Get a Klout account.  Another number advertisers can view is your Klout score.  The Klout score shows the strength of your sphere of influence within Twitter.  The strength of your influence is indicative of the likelihood that someone will act upon your message.  For obvious reasons, this is an important criteria for advertisers.  Without a Klout account your score will be zero.  So even if you don't think your score is very high get an account because even a one is better than zero.
  5. Don't be afraid to apply for celebrity status.  The worst they can say is no.  Stars and web celebrities are listed first when advertisers search for Tweeters to tweet their message.  Obviously, getting your name as high in the rankings as possible will create more opportunities.
